All the "New's" in 2008

Everyone seems to be looking forward, looking back today and I am no different! I have to admit I am looking forward to a new year. 2007 was fine, nothing catastrophic to note, it just wasn't great or note worthy, well except for, becoming a grandma this year (that was head and shoulders SOOOO COOL, and still is!).
As the sun sets for the last time in 2007 I look forward to all the new things to do, be a part of, and experience. And with this brand new storage facility there are a lot of firsts to see!
  • I look forward to all the new friends I will make with our new customers. I have already a handful of 'favorites'.
  • I happily anticipate watching and helping this little business expand and grow.
  • I can't wait till I get to see the new leaves and green grass on our new landscaping!!!
  • I look forward to watching the deer, coyote, hawk, rabbits and birds out my window (I really enjoy the wildlife watching) and listening to the neighbors cows and chickens in the morning.
  • I am ready for Spring...and then I'll be ready for Summer...and then Fall...I like watching the change of seasons.

There are so many "New's" I look forward to I am very excited to see 2008 and all it has to bring! Bring it on!

Office help

I'm always open for help, and sometimes it comes in very different forms! Usually, it's "Could you manage the incoming trucks, please?" or "Would you mind sweeping out a unit, please?" or, even "Could you please park that here for me?". Most of the time I don't have the luxury of delegating. But, today was a bit different. Carley stopped by to help for just a bit. She offered to inventory the stock in the office, and as you can see she takes her job quite seriously. That is, as seriously as this happy 1 yr old can manage! Sadly, she was called away on some other very important business and had to go before she got done with her inventory. I guess that leaves me to finish up, I suppose that is why it is my job.

Moving forward from 'tiny'.

We opened late in 2007. And like every new business...our start was 'tiny', but that is just the beginning. We offer quite a normal bunch of storage services and some very novel ones too! Services like a courtesy truck to pick up our customer's goods, and we offer radiant heat floors in all our units, and bright, clean and generous isle ways. These services and offerings are just the physical part of really being 'A Better Way'. The one constant feature is service...we offer helpful, friendly service.
The one thing that the owners offer me and anyone who comes to visit at the right time of day...something you can't buy or sell. Sunsets. The view from my window is, for me, spectacular! The sunsets are by far the most wonderful. I grew up a farm girl, so my view of the neighbor's farm is like home, I love it. If you are ever in Ridgefield, WA stop by and see if we can offer you a sunset, or more, as we move forward from tiny to spectacular!

Snow!!!

Snow always makes my day fun. It gives me something new to watch out my window. Today, is one of those rare winter days when you wake up and see SNOW! Snow is not a common occurance here in Ridgefield, WA and on the occasion when we get a few inches everyone seems to get excited. Whether happy or frustrated they get excited and it seems to step everything up a notch! This snow seems to be an easy going, good natured dusting that is not impacting people in an adverse way. As you can see, the parking lot (fore ground) is bare except for the slush from the not quite melted snow, this allows people the normal life with the added zip of a bit of snow! Business as usual, in spite of the fun.
